Hi guys !!
Sorry, long time without giving news, life had been a bit crazy lately !! I've been rushing a loooot, so much to do, and then I was off to California again !! It was very great, as always, I had a blast, even if it was cloudy. I met with my lovely friend

(and we got lost on the freewayyyyy ahahah) , met some great people from animation studios Cartoon Network, left my portfolio to Nickelodeon (I was here, couldn't go other places than the lobby but... TURTLES in the lobby

), and visited the Walt Disney Animation Studios !!! Yes, the Roy E. Building, the place I couldn't even imagine visiting in my wildest dream!!! I still don't realise. I DON'T REALISE.
Lol as Cast Member from the Walt Disney Company, we were allowed to roam around the Disney Studios (we had lunch with Dave Smith, the archivist, and he gave us a tour of the city about Walt Disney's historic places - thanks so much Dave, that was adorable! We went on Walt's grave, too. It was... well. This man changed so much things in my life. In fact, Disney leads my life, makes the craziest thing happening, in many many way, in almost every aspects of my life/ Really. Wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for Disney.) Anyway, I've already been 3 years ago at the Studios, we had paid a visit again on monday to see Dave and all, and what's funny is that we're totally free to go everywhere we want to go. Yes, so walking on Dopey Alley or stepping into the old animation Studio and nobody asks you who you are or what you are doing, no, you just walk around, free, people waves hi at you, and you're like home. It's a weird feeling somehow, but it's a nice feeling. Like when I walk in the Disneyland park at night when it's closed and almost nobody is here. Feeling the whole park is just for me - every kid dreams, right? That's why I don't wanna quit this job, even if it's hard sometimes

But we're not allowed in the actual Animation Building because they are very protective about the Movie(s) In Progress.
But thursday we got a call from one of our contacts, and she said she arranged a tour for us, and can we be at the Studios at 2 pm? Lol imagine this: 3 hardcores Disney animation fans (well, especially David and me), just ready to enjoy their last day in Disneyland Resort, we were on the Lilly Belle (which was something pretty awesome too, if you know a bit of Disney History - we also had a tour of the Dream Suite. Guys this is REALLY a Dream suite.

), we were quite schoked by the new. We looked at each other for like, 5 seconds, and then started to run to Downtown Disney to rent a car, last-minute. (And we got a Chevy Impala, ahahah, Winchester Style!!)
And the Studios. Oh my gosh. I was so excited, I was shaking. Believe me, it was one of my BIGGEST childhood dream. Stephanie, who gave us the tour, was the sweetest girl ever. We saw Mark Henn who was giving a masterclass to some 3D animators. YES.
MARK HENN. And he waved at us. And I was standing with the stupidest face ever, like "What's happening right now? Where am I? Is he really who I think he is??"
We saw lot of
Frozen artworks, studies, sketches, story-boards, and of course while we weren't allowed to take pictures, and I'm not allowed to say what I saw, just let me say that's it's gonna be a great and beautiful movie !! Can't wait to hear the songs, too. But we'll have pretty great sceneries and landscapes! And there was so many pencils sketches of the characters on the walls and all. I wanted to take everything. And the animator's desks and offices. And this place. This whole place. And we met an 3D animator who gave us a demo of his work, and some others too, and I saw Scott Watanabe though I didn't have the chance to talk to him (but had to resist the urge to step into his office he let open

)
I met Ian Goodling too (art director from
Princess and the Frog and
Wreck-It Ralph!! He had a look at my portfolio and encouraged me! He was soooo nice, I just bumped into him at the Studios, and we talked a bit and kjhkfdjhgg sorry.
I still don't realize and I'm still over-excited about all this. Because, you know. This place. This studio. This people. I'm not really your typical fangirl - though I love lot of actors or singers, I've never been heels over head for any of them, I just enjoy their work or music, but I'm not obsessed and if I meet a celebrity it's not big deal, actually, I don't care that much. (maybe because it happens on a frequent basis at my job, too.) But these people. I mean. Even when I was a kid, I was fascinated by the making of Disney movies, and animators were like big rock stars to me. When I decided to become a artist, it was even more impressive and inspiring. Especially when I got into animation studies, it gave me quite the pressure
So yes. When I meet artists I love and look up to, that what makes me nervous. Excited. Stressed. And that's it. They are my rock stars. Even if only few people get it when I talk about it - people who don't draw, mostly, they're like "why are you excited over a bunch of unknown people?" Well, because in art domain, THEY ARE ROCK STARS.
So, I WANNA WORK IN THIS BUILDING ONE DAY. I WILL.
I met with my friend Matt, too (can you believe we live like, a few miles from each others in Paris and didn't meet for about 2 years, and then bam, we go to California at the same time?? He's working with Andreas Deja at the moment. LUCKY GUY I'M JEALOUS. I was supposed to meet Andreas but he was too busy and I didn't stay long enough, ah >///< Hope I'll get the occasion next time!! (Andreas Deja, people !! Uhuh at least when he knew I needed some art supplies he gave Matt the adress of the shop he uses to go. I got some col-erases from the art supplies shop were Andreas Deja get his own art supplies !!

*stupid fangirl* )
Sorryyyyy I babble way too much, I just wanted to do a quick journal as I'm late to finish our fanzine with

!! I have to put all the pages together and print it and finish the last poster, aaaaah, and got up too late!! (thanks my roomate who woke me up XD )
We have a little convention this week end in my hometown, and then Japan Expo in summer!
(also, I have an appointment for an art job tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed cause it could be pretty awesome ^^ )
And I'm getting ready for Animation Festival of Annecy next month. I'm nervous, but this last trip, the people I met, talking with Matt (who was one of my former classmates back in school) just put me back on track for animation. It's gonna be tough, I know, because I have no degrees, I have little experience, and my skills aren't very good. I lost so much time these last years, and I was wandering a lot. Now, I think I know where I want to go. Though I love illustration, my heart is really set on animation - especially story-board. So yeah. I'm gonna try this.
We'll see how it goes

Wish me luck! My biggest goal is working in american studios in California. But the road will be veeery long. Because I need visa. And for a visa, I need sponsorship. And so far, I don't know who I could get a sponsor from!! I thought at least Disneyland could help, as I'm already a Walt Disney Company employee anyway. But no. (come on, I can sell pop-corn in the Californian Resort as well as I was selling it in Disneyland Paris! I was famous for my pop-corn!!) I'm very disappointed

I'll find a way one day.

And I'll finish on two requests: first, as you maybe saw in my gallery, I've been asked to join a challenge, a few weeks ago, for the french convention Geekopolis !! We had to draw a pin-up inspired by a video-game, a book, a movie... Well, you know I like drawing pretty girls, you know I like Alice in Wonderland, and there you are ^^
Please vote for me, you just have to like the drawing here ~

It'll help me to be exposed with other people during the convention, that'd be amazing !! Thank you in advance !!

And second, my friend

opened commission !! She does very cute art, go for it, especially if you are a MLP:FIM fan !!
